Around 70 people attended a low key friendly game at Top Field, won by a goal on the stroke of half-time.

Hitchin had some early chances, notably when James Edgerley’s shot was saved and John Frendo went close.

But Luton had the best opportunities, with Martin Bennett preventing Jake Woolley from scoring and Christian Tavernier heading against the post.

In the 45th minute, Luton scored what proved to be the winning goal, Stuart Fleetwood lobbing the ball over Bennett.

The second period was very tame, punctuated by several substitutions. One of the Canaries’ replacements, Barto Pedrycz, pulled off a fine save from Alasan Ann in the closing minutes.
