A late equaliser deprived Hitchin of a victory at Potters Bar in a lively friendly match.
Once more, Hitchin played some good football, but failed to finish off their hosts, but there were plenty of positives for the Canaries management.
The game provided more evidence that new signing Zak Burke is something of a find for Colin Payne and Carl Williams. Burke scored again with a fine finish to give Hitchin a first half lead. Earlier, Steve Velandia struck the crossbar with a 35 yard effort that deserved to find the back of the net.
There were further chances for Burke and Ieuan Lewis, but the home side earned a draw with an equaliser two minutes from the end.
Hitchin: Bennett, Grinham (Payne), Reece, Smith, Gilbert, L.Donnelly, Lewis, Velandia, Burke (Hammond), Arlick, Fontenelle (Thompson)
