A below strength Hitchin side were comfortably beaten by Stotfold in a disappointing game at Roker Park,

The Hitchin team that took the field at Stotfold contained only one or two players who are likely to start against Marlow on August 15.The game provided the Hitchin management with some pointers on who will and who won't be knocking on the door of the first team.

The Canaries fell behind in the 36th minute. Although Leon Gutzmore had two chances, and Brett Donnelly went close, there was little to cheer the Hitchin supporters who made up two thirds of the crowd at Stotfold.Ieuan Lewis, who came on for Neil Thompson, had a late opportunity, but Stotfold wrapped the game up with an 89th minute free kick by former Hitchin midfielder Stuart Lochhead.
