Hitchin completed their pre-season programme with an entertaining goallless draw at Dunstable.
The Canaries looked the more inventive side and first half chances fell to Ryan Frater and Carl Drew. Adam Cunnington should have put Hitchin ahead when he raced through on his own but his hesitancy as he tried to round goalkeeper Paul Taylor cost him a chance to score.
Hitchin were again on top in the second half, but failed to find the net. There were encouraging performances from a number of players, notably full back Darren Spinks.
The Canaries hit the woodwork late on when a corner by Ben L'Honore struck the post.
