One of the most accomplished defenders in non-league football over the past 20 years. Mark is in his sixth spell with Hitchin. He began his career in the mid-1990s and was originally a striker before converting to defence. At Stevenage, he was a member of the team that won the Conference in 1996 and took Newcastle to two games in the FA Cup. He was also capped regularly by England at non-league level. Went on to play for Dagenham, Boreham Wood and returned to Stevenage before coming back to Hitchin in 2004. A great character and a model "pro", Mark is now player-coach at the club. |
