Central defender Dean captained Hitchin last season after returning to the club in the summer of 2009. His first spell with the club started in December 2008 when the club paid a fee to bring him from local rivals Arlesey Town. He departed Hitchin in January 2009 and played briefly once more for Arlesey, but was lured back to Top Field and enjoyed an excellent season in Hitchin colours.
