Carl joined Hitchin for the third time in June 2006 after leaving Bedford Town. His career with the Canaries dates back to 1996, when he arrived at the club following his release from Fulham and short spells with Collier Row and Carshalton Athletic. During his time with Fulham, he made 13 appearances for the club. A pugnacious character who always gives 100%, Carl better known as Charlie played a key role in Hitchin’s promotion winning season of 1999 and went on to become a popular member of the team. He left in 2002 for Bedford Town but returned to Hitchin in 2003, only to depart once more in the early weeks of 2004 for Cambridge City. He moved back to Bedford in 2005-06, but was lured to Top Field a third time in the summer of 2006. Has played almost 400 games for Hitchin. Made Assistant Manager in November 2008. |
