Just starting his second full season in charge at Top Field, Darren took over the manager’s job in December 2004. He was previously on the coaching staff at Hitchin in the late 1990s and then returned to work on the club’s Youth Academy. A former professional with Luton Town, Darren’s playing career was cruelly ended by a car accident. At the time, the Hatters’ central defender was tipped for full international honours with Scotland after winning a handful of Under-21 caps. In his first full season as Hitchin manager, the club won its biggest honour in 36 years- the Errea Cup. |
