Carl joined Hitchin for the third time in June 2006 after leaving Bedford Town. His career with the Canaries dates back to 1996, when he arrived at the club following his release from Fulham and a short spell with Carshalton Athletic. During his time with Fulham, he made 13 appearances for the club. A pugnacious character who always gives 100%, Carl – better known as Charlie – played a key role in Hitchin’s promotion winning season of 1999 and went on to become a popular member of the team. He left in 2002 for Bedford Town but returned to Hitchin in 2003, only to depart once more in the early weeks of 2004 for Cambridge City. He moved back to Bedford last season, but was lured back to Top Field by manager Darren Salton. |
