Dixon’s squad still intact

Hitchin manager Kerry Dixon believes that all the key members of his squad will commit themselves to the club for next season.

Despite offers from other clubs and some serious team-building in process at Dunstable, Hemel Hempstead and Boreham Wood, most of Dixion’s squad have expressed a desire to stay with Hitchin. "They will of course be getting offers, but so far, we’ve lost noone," he insisted.

Dixon adds that most of his team-building will be done in pre-season. "I have spoken to a few players who have said they will come along to pre-season training. Our budget for next season, as we have pointed out already, is just below last season’s. That makes it hard for us, but that’s a fact of life," he said. "It’s going to be the same combination - some experience mixed with the best of our youngsters."

But he is adamant that his best line-up will hold its own. "I believe that if we had been able to field our best team more often, we would have finished a lot higher in the table last season, and I stand by that for the forthcoming campaign."
