Hitchin have the chance to push Ryman League basement boys Billericay Town deeper in the mire next Saturday when the Essex side visit Top Field.
Earlier this season, the Canaries beat Billericay 3-1 with goals from Craig Rydeheard, James Osborn and Stuart Maynard. It proved to be the first of many setbacks for Billericay, who are managed by former Tottenham full back Justin Edinburgh, an old adversary of Hitchin manager Kerry Dixon.
Billericay have won just once away from home this season, a 1-0 success at Basingstoke in November. In the past 10 games, Edinburgh's side have picked up five points in 10 games, compared to Hitchin's 9 in the same spell. The Canaries home form is not good, however, with just three wins at Top Field in the league.
Billericay are cemented to the bottom at present, but Kerry Dixon expects a difficult game. "They have had their problems and had to adjust their resources accordingly, rather like we are in the process of doing. But this will be a difficult game because the tide will turn for them at some point, we have to make sure it's not against us."
