Stamford come to Hitchin for the first-ever competitive meeting between the Daniels and the Canaries on Saturday.
Although Stamford have lost just twice this season, they have found goals hard to come by and have drawn five games so far. "We've been creating plenty of chances but not putting them away," says Stamford boss Billy Jeffrey.
Former Oxford United, Blackpool and Northampton player Jeffrey is nevertheless pleased with the ways things have gone for his team. "We should have perhaps won a couple more games, but this is a challenge we are enjoying. It is a step up for us, the quality is definitely higher than last season," he says.
Hitchin will be keen to get back on track after three successive defeats and will reshuffle their pack after the midweek departure of Stuart Maynard. Doubts still linger over the fitness of Paul Covington, Darran Hay and Gavin Jaggard, but Josh Sozzo came through the FA Cup game with Beaconsfield unscathed.
