Get behind us once more, pleads Hay

Hitchin manager Darran Hay has called for "strong vocal support" from the Hitchin crowd at the home game with Banbury this weekend.

Hay, impressed by the reaction of fans in the past few weeks, believes the Top Field regulars can make a difference as the Canaries move into the last month of the season.

"We saw against Kings Lynn just what the crowd can do for us, and I really want to replicate that in the last three home games. I estimate we need two wins from four games to stay up and we can all help push the team over the line," he said.

Hitchin face a Banbury side that has been very inconsistent this season. "Banbury are a decent side and some of their results indicate that," said Hay. "This is a tough game because they will know we need the points."

Hay was delighted with the 3-2 win at Cirencester. "The conditions were difficult and we just needed to get the right result, which we did. I was pleased with the way the lads adapted."

Luke Gregson is still missing from the Hitchin line-up but may be fit to be included next week. Ricky Perks is also still injured.
