Canaries eager to face Linnets

Tuesday, March 18 2008

Hitchin Town go into action tonight against title chasing Kings Lynn knowing that a win will put pressure on the teams around them in the relegation zone.

The Canaries are one of the teams in form in the BGB Premier, with 11 points from their last six games - better than Kings Lynn and table-topping Team Bath. Hitchin have won five of their last six home games.

Kings Lynn will be highly motivated this evening as they have dropped to third in the table and are five points behind leaders Team Bath with a game in hand.

"We certainly won't be overawed by the challenge," says manager Darran Hay. "We played Kings Lynn recently and were unlucky not to have won at the Walks, so we know what to expect. It will be tough, but we are really buzzing at the moment."

A victory tonight could lift Hitchin as high as 14th in the table.
