Two keepers and a departure for Canaries

Hitchin will welcome two new signings and say farewell to a popular player at Team Bath tomorrow.

The Canaries have signed two goalkeepers following their FA Cup success at Bognor Regis on Tuesday night. Hitchin lost Michael Parkin to injury at Bognor and Darren Salton moved quickly to cover what may be a long term absence.

Rob Beckwith has joined Hitchin after being released by Luton Town in the summer. Twenty-two years old, Beckwith made 17 Football League appearances for Luton and two for Chesterfield. Another keeper, Ricky Perks, has signed for Hitchin although he will still be available to St.Albans City.

In the squad tomorrow for the last time will be Stuart Hammonds, who will leave the club to rejoin Bracknell Town. Hammonds lost his place in the Canaries starting line-up and wants regular football. “His attitude has always been fantastic, but he wants to be playing,” said Darren Salton. “Stuart is a great lad and we are truly sorry to see him go. He will be in the squad for the game at Team Bath and I want everyone to give him a big farewell.”

Scott Orphanou, who made a big impact in Hitchin’s last league game, will be in the squad for Twerton Park.
