After two crushing blows in a five day spell, Hitchin are looking to rebound in style at bottom of the table Cheshunt.
The Canaries went out of both FA competitions in the same week, but manager Darren Salton expects his team to demonstrate its character in getting back to league action. “Our goal of getting into the play-off zone remains intact. It is important that we get back on track and I am confident we will put the last two games behind us,” he says.
Hitchin have lost just three games in the league, all by the odd goal. “We’ve had one bad league performance and that was at Team Bath,” he says. “We’ve been quite consistent this season despite the fact we have rarely been able to field our first choice side.”
Cheshunt are at the foot of the table on eight points, just four behind Hitchin. They have lost three of their five league games at home this season. But they have beaten Tiverton and Clevedon, both of whom have emerged victorious against Hitchin this season.
Cheshunt are likely to field former Hitchin player David Hicks who has recently signed for the club. Hitchin are still without the suspended Mark Ducket and the injured Neil Pugh and Chris Dillon.
