Brown decides to stay put

Ian Brown, who agreed to join Hitchin just seven days ago, has decided to stay with Conference South new boys Bedford Town.

Brown, 24, told Canaries manager Darren Salton last Saturday that he was signing for Hitchin. But he has about-turned on the decision. "It’s disappointing," says Salton. "Ian was part of my plans, but he is staying with Bedford. Nevertheless, we wish him all the best for the future."
