Hitchin Town leading scorer Darran Hay has joined Kings Lynn, the club he helped to beat in his last game for the Canaries.
Hay, who netted twice against Kings Lynn last Saturday, was approached after Hitchin's 3-0 win and was made an attractive offer to leave.
A popular figure with the crowd and with his team-mates, Hay's commitment and experience has been valuable this year for Hitchin. But manager Darren Salton understands why Hay has chosen to play for the Linnets: "At his age, Darran is not going to get many offers like this and it could be his last chance. He is a great lad and he has done absolutely brilliantly for Hitchin Town."
