Salton looks for a change of luck

Hitchin manager Darren Salton is seeking a change of fortune as the Canaries take on in-form Cheshunt at Top Field tonight.

“We’re not getting the breaks we need at the moment and Saturday at Stamford was a case in point,” he says. “Before we were reduced to 10 men, we were all convinced we should have had a penalty and that would have had a huge say in how the game went.”

Salton was pleased with the effort put in by his team and feels certain that the current dismal run will end soon. “The lads gave everything and I can ask no more,” he says. “We just have to keep going until things change.”

But he believes tonight’s game is a significant hurdle. “Cheshunt have had a couple of good results and they have clearly improved. Darrell Cox has returned and he’s a quality player and don’t forget, they have David Hicks, our former player.”

Cheshunt  have won just once away from home this season but have beaten Stamford and Cirencester in the past three games.

Salton expects to field the side that was beaten 2-0 at Stamford.
