Canaries manager Darran Hay has made two signings on the eve of his team's game with Tiverton Town at Top Field.
Hay, eager to reinforce a struggling side, has acquired the services of Paul Armstrong and James Edgerley. Armstrong is well known by Hitchin fans and joins from St.Albans City. He has also played for Aylesbury, Bishop's Stortford, Chesham, Stevenage, Enfield and Leyton. Armstrong is a hard-working midfielder.
Also arriving at Top Field is Hayes & Yeading’s James Edgerley. Just 22 years old, Edgerley is a left-sided player who can line-up in defence or midfield. He has played for Windsor & Eton and Team Bath.
Both players will be in the squad for the game with Tiverton, a team that has had its problems this season. Wayne Mills (work commitments) and Ricky Miller (suspension) will be missing from the squad.
“We need to strengthen our squad and there will be players arriving in the coming weeks. The game against Tiverton is a real six-pointer for us and we desperately need a result,” said Darran Hay.
One player who has departed Hitchin is Martin Standen, who is believed to have signed for Colney Heath.
