Hitchin midfielder Jon Stevenson has joined St.Albans City after the Blue Square South side put a seven-day approach in for the player. Stevenson, who has played out of position all season, joined the Canaries at the back end of last season.
His departure comes as Hitchin prepare for their FA Trophy tie with Cinderford Town. Recent signing Ricky Miller returns to the squad and manager Darren Salton is excited by the prospect of the former Corby man being involved once more. “Ricky did well in his first appearance and showed a lot of promise. It is disappointing to lose Jon but he’s had a good offer and decided to take it. We wish him well.” Salton has just agreed a further one-month loan period with Stevenage for Tyron Sealey.
Cinderford, of the BGB Division One Midlands, have shown some quality away from home this season and beat Premier neighbours Cirencester in the last round. In fact, Cinderford have a 100% away record in the league, although they are well below halfway. Their team comprises a number of former Cirencester and Gloucester players.
