Bubbling Canaries aim to prolong run

Hitchin aim to extend their four-game unbeaten run when they travel to Clevedon tomorrow.

The Canaries, boosted by their dramatic 3-2 FA Cup win at Harrow last Saturday, will be without the suspended Jon Stevenson but otherwise have the same squad that won that tie.

Clevedon and Hitchin met four times last season, with three games ending in stalemate and the Canaries winning once.

This season, both clubs have had mixed results, but like Hitchin, Clevedon went through in the FA Cup, beating Wimbourne 4-0.

"The lads are bubbling at the moment and the win at Harrow was fully deserved," said Assistant Manager Ken Gillard. "We showed great character and we have a great opportunity in the next round."

Clevedon have won just one of their four home games in the league this season but the Canaries' away form is good at present, two wins and a draw in their last three trips.

There was good news this week for Hitchin when Mark Ducket resumed training after a long absence through injury. Martin Standen, however, may not return before the end of the year.
