Hay turns things over with two new men

Monday, February 4 2008

Hitchin Town manager Darran Hay signed two new players on the eve of his team's game at Gloucester on Saturday.

Iuean Lewis returned to the club from Arlesey Town and young Wycombe defender Jamie Turley also joined the Canaries. Both appeared in Hitchin's defeat in Nailsworth.

Lewis is well known to Hitchin fans after he appeared on loan in 2004-05 from Stevenage. Turley is just 17 and has also been with Reading and Oxford.

At the same time, Hay has released three players from his squad. Strikers Paul Armstrong and Richard Pringle have left the club, as too has defender James Nash.

Hay has not closed the door on Pringle, however. "He has the potential to be a very good player but he needs to get himself fully fit."
