Hitchin are looking to reverse their opening day defeat at Tiverton when they take on the Devon side on Saturday.
The Canaries lost at Tiverton back in August after taking a first half lead. That defeat, one of only three so far in the league, came after conceding two soft goals in the second half.
Tiverton are not so hot on their travels this season and have failed to win a BGB Premier game away from Ladysmead. It has been a rough few weeks for Martyn Rogers’ side, who recently threw away a three goal lead at home to Hemel Hempstead before losing 3-4.
Rogers was incensed and in the aftermath of that game released midfielder Barry McConnell and striker Steve Flack, partly due to financial reasons.
Hitchin are hoping to make their pitch playable after seeing their home game with Rugby called off last week, making it three blank Saturdays in four for Darren Salton’s men.
Tiverton’s record at Top Field is mixed: in 2004-05 they won 1-0 but last season were beaten 3-2.
