Basement clash as Canaries seek to bounce back

Friday, August 31 2007

Two clubs in the bottom three meet at Theobalds Lane on Saturday when Hitchin travel to Cheshunt in need of a boost.

The Canaries have lost three successive games after opening the season with a win, while Cheshunt have two draws to show for their efforts. They have yet to score at home this season.

Hitchin have a good record at Cheshunt, however, having won 2-1 in both 2005-06 and 2006-07.

The Cheshunt game is a vital one for Hitchin as three of the first four games have been against sides expected to challenge at the top of the table. Coupled with the Cirencester home game next Tuesday, Hitchin have the chance to rebound from a depressing start to the season.

Cheshunt will also be eyeing the game as an opportunity, however. And they will also be looking at last season when they opened poorly but gained their first win on the first Saturday of September.
