Hitchin Town travel to Gloucester this weekend hoping to end their poor run against the Tigers. In four league meetings, the Canaries have yet to win and their two previous trips to Gloucester have both ended in defeat.
Manager Darren Salton has the utmost respect for Gloucester’s manager Tim Harris. “He did well last season turning things around at the club and he likes to have a well organised team with special emphasis on set pieces,” said Salton.
But Salton’s team go to Gloucester in an upbeat mood after two wins over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Hitchin were one of two teams to get maximum points in the two games. “We did a lot of good things against Chippenham and Banbury and I was absolutely delighted with the way we bounced back from two defeats- we showed a lot of character.”
Salton is hoping to field the same team that played at Banbury with both Gavin Jaggard and Carl Williams in the squad.
