Hitchin take on arguably the biggest club in the Southern League Premier when Bath City come to Top Field on Saturday.
The Canaries, who lost both games against the Romans last season, will come up against a team that is unbeaten in its last five league games and has conceded just one goal during that run. In fact, Bath have kept eight clean sheets in 14 games this season. But Bath don’t score too many goals- they have scored 19 this season.
Bath are one of the better supported sides in the division and only just missed out on the play-offs last season. They are currently in seventh place, but have games in hand.
Bath will include Scott Partridge in their side – the former Football League striker has hit a lean spell in recent weeks, but Chippenham still tried to take him off Bath’s hands. Manager John Relish has underlined however that Partridge is “going nowhere”.
Hitchin have been hit by injuries in the past month and front man Leeyon Phelan will still be missing on Saturday. Defender Leon Townley is hopeful of making the squad, however. Mark Bridge is not fit, but Daniel French received an injury on Tuesday night and manager Darren Salton will be hoping that he will recover in time.
