Anorak Facts: Closing in on 200

Two Hitchin players are getting close to making the 200 appearance mark for the club.

Ieuan Lewis should, all being well, reach 200 in the next fortnight. He’s currently on 197 games and if selected will get to the two-ton figure on March 3 at Stourbridge.

Amazingly, Ieuan is still only 24 years old (born 27-11-87 in Cardiff) but seems to have been around the local football scene for years. He made his debut for Hitchin while on loan from Stevenage on January 8 2005 against Team Bath. After being released by Stevenage, Ieuan played for Arlesey Town before rejoining the Canaries in December 2007.

In the next few weeks, Martin Bennett will also reach 200 – he’s on 192 at present.
