Canary Classified: Front runners slip up

On a bizarre afternoon when most of the top clubs failed to win, Chesham United came from behind twice to win 4-2 against Stourbridge.

Leaders Brackley were denied victory deep into added time when Mike Reaney scored for Frome to make it 1-1.

AFC Totton, meanwhile, were beaten by an 89th minute winner from Steve Towers at Barwell. Totton had led twice in the game, eventually going down 3-2.

Cambridge City were denied victory at Chippenham, who made it 2-2 five minutes into added time. The real drama came after 59 seconds, however, when the home side's Lewis Powell was stretchered off with a suspected broken leg, holding up the game for 12 minutes.

Former Hitchin man Jordan Patrick scored Arlesey's winner in the Bedfordshire derby against Bedford. The Blues netted after six minutes and held on to win 1-0 in front of a crowd of 317. Bedford had a goal disallowed early on and two clear-cut penalties, according to the Classified Man on the Spot.

Cirencester had to thank an 86th minute goal from Wayne Turk to give them a 1-0 win against Redditch United. And late goals gave Hemel a 2-1 win against Banbury and allowed St.Albans to overcome Swindon Supermarine by the same scoreline.

Leamington and Oxford drew 1-1 at the New Windmill Ground.
