Hitchin manager Carl Williams was pleased with the way his team responded to the club's current financial situation with a comprehensive 3-1 win at Bashley this afternoon.
Williams, who released striker Jerome Anderson on Thursday night as one of his cost control measures, said the team had shown great character at Bashley. "We were a real team today and I was delighted with their attitude. It was disappointing to let Jerome go, but we have to do these things and sometimes in football you have to make hard decisions. We wish him well, he's a good player who will do someone a good job."
Williams said the second half at Bashley was tough, with the wind against the Canaries. "Questions were asked of us and we gave some good answers. It's always great to win away from home, but it was important today to show how committed we are."
