League leaders Brackley were beaten 0-2 at home by Stourbridge, thanks to two goals in the 90th minute, one from the penalty spot. The game was heading for a draw when Brackley keeper Billy Turley and Ryan Rowe collided and much to the disgust of the home side, a penalty was awarded, which Sean Geddes netted. Rowe added a second in the final seconds to give the Glassboys victory.
AFC Totton hit form against Chesham, with two late goals from substitute Nathan Jack sealing a 3-0 victory. Oxford City climbed to third with a 2-1 win against Chippenham Town. Oxford had to fight hard as Chippenham Town mounted a strong second-half challenge after the home side had gone in two goals to the good at the break thanks to a fine finish by Declan Benjamin and a penalty from Felipe Barcelos.
Two first half goals were enough for Cambridge City to win at Cirencester Town. It was City’s fourth win on the bounce, but the day was marred by a serious injury to striker Craig Hammond. Barwell were beaten 2-3 at home by an added time winner from Bashley.
St.Albans damaged Leamington’s title hopes with a 2-1 win at Clarence Park. Both Saints’ goals were scored by Sakho Bakare.
Arlesey Town new boy Jordan Patrick, who had a brief spell with Hitchin, scored twice as the Blues beat Weymouth 3-1 to secure their first home win since August 23. Arlesey led 3-0 at the interval – Chris Marsh scoring the other goal. The visitors scored late on. Arlesey have just signed Mitchell Cole from Bliggleswade United to increase their quota of former Hitchin men.
A first half penalty gave Banbury a 1-0 win at Frome Town, despite the home team missing a plethora of chances. Drew Roberts was in outstanding form for Bedford, scoring a hat-trick as the Eagles beat Evesham 3-1. Hemel came from behind to beat Swindon Supermarine 3-1 for only their second away win of the season.
Hitchin’s 4-1 win at Redditch puts them up to 13th position in the table.
