Hitchin’s reserves opened their Capital League season with a 2-0 win against Biggleswade Town at Top Field on Monday night (August 23).
The Canaries netted two second half goals, through Bradley Harrison and Tom Ahmed.
Hitchin fielded a strong side, with manager Carl Williams playing the 90 minutes. Biggleswade included a trio of former Hitchin men, Brett Donnelly, Liam Folds and Sam Pemberton.
Hitchin’s first goal came after Gary Dixon was brought down by keeper Forster. Harrison netted from the spot. Harrison had earlier gone close with a bicycle kick.
The second goal came nine minutes from time, Ahmed netting from close range.
