Away specialists come to Top Field: Hitchin v Woodford United

Friday, February 26 2010

Hitchin come up against a team that has won its last six league games away from home when Woodford United visit Top Field on Saturday (February 27 3pm).

Woodford have pushed themselves up to seventh place in the league with a string of impressive away results. In midweek they won at Leighton by 4-2 with four first half goals.

They are capable of pulling off a surprise or two – they won 5-4 at Bury Town in December in dramatic fashion.

They have also strengthened their side since Hitchin won 3-1 in Northants in August. Howard Forinton, a striker now in the twilight years of his career, knows how to score against the Canaries, and if he plays will be a threat.

Hitchin are unbeaten in 10 league games, and although they failed to win at Marlow, the side is brimming with confidence.
