Hitchin Town's leading scorer, Jamie Arlick, has spoken out in praise of the club's loyal fans and believes they can play their part in helping the Canaries win promotion this season.
“Our fans differentiate us from other clubs,” he says. “Even when we play away, there are around 50 people cheering us on. It’s fantastic.”
Arlick, 20, says the players appreciate the loyal support provided by the Top Field faithful. “When we travel away and we run out to see the usual faces, it gives us a buzz. It makes you want to win the game for them.”
Stevenage-based Arlick, who joined Hitchin in the summer after playing for Tiptree, is enjoying the most prolific season of his career. He has more than 20 goals already. “Things have got better as the season has progressed. I am enjoying my football and I think this team can get better and better,” he insists.
