Canaries return home: Hitchin v Bromsgrove

Friday, January 22 2010

Hitchin play at home for the first time in 27 days when they welcome struggling Bromsgrove Rovers at Top Field.

Bromsgrove have had a wretched season, going into administration in the autumn and receiving a 10-point deduction.  The Midlanders’ record is actually more in keeping with a mid-table side, but the penalty has sent them into the relegation zone.

Despite the uncertainty about their future, Bromsgrove’s players have largely stuck with the club, which has impressed manager John Snape.

Hitchin are keen to pick up where they left off on Boxing Day at their headquarters. Although the Canaries drew at Bedworth in midweek, manager Colin Payne was not downhearted. “We created a lot of chances and should have won. We are keen to regain our momentum, especially as we have a trip to Slough next week. “

Payne has a full strength squad to choose from, with Carl Williams returning after suspension.
