After the hail storm and rain before kick off, weather more for ducks than footballers, the sun broke through to dry the players out. Little did the Tigers know what lay before them?
The game started out as it was to go on, hard thought, tough tackling, every ball fiercely competed for, as neither side wanted to lose this one. After several close shaves on the Tigers goal, Joe showed just why he is the boy with the gloves. Patrick, Antonio & Chris W showed full determination in their defensive duties, Bedwell knew they were in for a game.
A long clearance by Joe saw Oliver chest it down, turn the defender and drive in with his left foot 0 -1. Chris T, Harry and Jake were holding there own in the midfield battle, and though Chris T took some pretty tough tackles in both halves of the field, the young lad did not stop running.
The second half got off to a flyer with a clearance by Antonio, which landed on Oliver’s chest, who played a one two with Danny, Oliver volleyed in with his right foot 0 – 2. With minutes remaining, a corner to Bedwell saw them claw one back 1-2. The remaining few minutes would be a nail biter, then Connor goes on a driving run down the wing, a fierce shot is rebounded off the keeper, which resulted in a goal mouth scramble which Connor sent home 1-3, from there it was all Tigers.
With all the matches the Tigers have played this season (and there has been some excellent games), for shear determination and guts, this has to be the pick off the bunch. Well played boys.
