Straight from the kick-off the Hawks mounted an attack with a run by Ben that forced the first of many corners. The corner was cleared and Symonds Green soon mounted an attack of their own which forced Ryan D to make a brave save at the attackers feet. On 6 mins a turn and shot from inside the penalty area from Ben saw the first goal (1-0).
The Hawks kept up the pressure and more corners followed with Ben and George on the receiving end but narrowly missing and Ryan C had an effort blocked by the defence. A poor goal kick from their keeper led to another chance for Ben but the keeper recovered in time to make a good save.
On 12 mins a corner was cleared but Ben picked up the loose ball, passed to Tyler who finished well (2-0). More pressure followed from the Hawks when George went on a run down the wing but his cross was too high for the attackers. Another run from Ben saw his effort hit the post. Some great defending from Sahosh and Ryan C meant Symonds Green couldn’t get into the game and Alex was constantly harassing the Symonds Green defenders into making mistakes creating loose balls for the midfield to pick up.
On 18 mins the keeper failed to hold a shot from Ben and Ben tapped in the rebound (3-0) at half time. The half time team talk was for the boys to concentrate and keep going but straight from the kick off Hawks lost the ball and a run from the attacker into the penalty area caused a rash challenge that led to a penalty. However, the attacker hit the post and it was cleared by Alex. This woke Hawks up and more pressure followed. Alex put a header just wide. Then a Tyler cross caused confusion in the box and a shot from Alex was turned in by Joe (4-0). Ryan C made another fine save from a long range shot.
A quick pass out to Sahosh and a forward pass to Tyler put Tyler through but he hit the post. A George pass to Tyler and his cross reached Joe whose effort was just wide. On 30 mins an attack from Symonds Green was cleared by Ryan D, George picked up the ball and passed to Tyler who finished well (5-0). On 33 mins a shot from George was saved and Ben picked up the rebound to score his 3rd (6-0). On 36 mins Ben went on a great run and crossed for Tyler to score his 3rd (7-0) which was how it finished. A great performance.

The Harriers bounced back from last week’s disappointment to record a very impressive win. Another bright start saw the Harriers camped deep in the opponents half and when the opposition cleared the ball out of their area Finley was on hand to ping the ball back in where it slid in for the first goal. (1-0).
Five minutes later Finley tried the same thing from somewhere near the half way line, same result (2-0). The Harriers were piling the pressure on Symonds Green and Daniel managed to fire in a shot from a very tight angle that went in off the post (3-0). By now Symonds Green were under huge pressure with every attempt at clearance picked up by the Harriers and turned into another attack. On one such occasion Juan dribbled his way through the defence and produced a powerful shot that was saved, but Danny was able to knock in the rebound (4-0). Not long after Daniel got his second (5-0).
In the second half the pressure on Symonds Green grew and grew. A great dribbling run and shot from Ollie made it (6-0), shortly followed by Danny getting his second (7-0), and a nice move into space saw Alfie in to score a well deserved goal to pile the misery on the unfortunate Symonds Green (8-0). Alfie was linking up with Matthew who along with Zac came very close to scoring a number of times. Juan who was typically sold in midfield got his well deserved goal towards the end on the match with another great piece of dribbling round defenders and a powerful shot, which got us our ninth (9-0). The last goal saw Zac and Daniel linking up well, with Zac perfectly playing in Daniel who got the Harriers into double figures and got his hat trick (10-0).
The final mention should go to the player who had the toughest job, Alistair spent nearly all of the 40 minutes watching what was happening at the other end of the pitch but was still alert enough to get out early and collect the ball when Symonds Green had a late and rare trip into our half.
