Flitwick Eagles U14s v Hitchin Town Youth U14s

Sunday, November 5 2006

The fireworks started early for the U14s Hitchin Youth team but in the form of goals!

With Hitchin Town Youth U14's yet to lose a game this season, the boys went into this game with lots of confidence.  They started fast and soon put the home side under pressure.  The goal frenzy was started after a penalty was awarded and Bryn Reynolds smashed the ball into the back of net.

Hitchin Town played some great football all over the park with some fantastic link up play.

Hitchin town were dominant in Midfield winning every ball.  Midfield of Gareth Hedges, Matt Gibson, Ross Bates and Bryn were on top form and passed the ball around with ease.

Three goals from Liam Toomey safely put us 0-4 up by half time. The solid defence of Matt Morley, Josh Millet, Aaron Goldsmith and Danial Lambeth were yet again strong and solid.

The second half gave us spectators some spectacular goals from all over the pitch.  Liam Toomey scored another 4 goals to bring his tally to 7 goals in one game! Jake Daniels added another 2 goals to his tally whilst Michael Evans, who is just back from injury, added another goal.

Flitwick Eagles held their heads high throughout the game, there was no doubt that Hitchin Town Youth were the better side on the day, but credit to all the opposing boys who fought well and after a corner was awarded managed to scramble the ball into the back of our net.

Well done to all of you, you are a credit to us all.  Keep up the good football
