The Hawks started this match at a fast pace, with Ben and George R combining well to make the first chance in the opening minute.
Both sides pushed forward early on, with some sustained pressure from Bedwell resulting in a corner. This caught Hitchin a bit flat and they conceded an early goal. Bedwells confidence increased - as did their corner count - but the Hawks held firm.
When Hitchin did venture forward, they looked lively and got their reward, when Tylers' corner was turned in by Daniel to level things up at 1-1. Bedwell responded with more pressure and managed to hit the post with another corner before half-time.
The second half saw both sides attacking, with Alistair saving well and George F going close at the other end. Ben and Tyler were causing problems with their attacking runs and a shot from Ben was well saved by the Bedwell goalkeeper, with the follow-up going just wide. Bedwell took a quick throw, latched on to it and with a quick shot took the lead again - but Hitchin didn't give up and carried on playing well.
Unfortunately they were unable to find a way through and had to thank Alistair for keeping it at 2-1 with an excellent double save right on the final whistle.
The Harriers also started well and their match seemed to follow the same pattern as the first - with both sides pushing forward and Bedwell taking the lead early on.
Yet again, Hitchin worked well with Joe, Tom and Juan-Andres all making good runs along the line, through the middle and creating chances. Elliot was unlucky not to turn in an equalizer and the Bedwell goalkeeper made a series of good saves to keep them ahead.
It was only a matter of time before the goal came though - another strong run found Joe in the area and although the Bedwell goalkeeper bravely dived at his feet, he was unable to stop the momentum and it was 1-1 at halftime.
The players belief and confidence has grown each week and the second half saw them carry on and push forward. Bedwell responded with chances of their own and a moment of indecision from Hitchin allowed them to take the lead. The Harriers responded again and saw more chances and opportunities being made than in previous games, but despite this they were unable to break down Bedwells defence and the game finished at 2-1.
Both sides played very well again this week and can count themselves unlucky not to have come away with anything from the matches. There were many positives from both games -pushing forward, creating chances and having a go!
