Big win and a big day for double hat-trick hero Cameron - who thrust home the superiority of Hitchin Under-10s with some excellent finishing.
As Hitchin made it three wins out of three in the Chiltern Junior 7s League Division Two, it has to be said that this game was not helped by Leagrave failing to field a full side. Kick-off was delayed in the hope that their seventh player would turn up, but no such luck.

Double hat-trick for Cameron
Enjoying the wide spaces of their home pitch even more than usual, Hitchin quickly went ahead through Christian and then Cameron doubled the lead. After Cameron tapped in a rebound from Liam’s shot for 3-0 it looked like plain sailing.
But plucky Leagrave battled well and pulled a goal back after an excellent cross was deflected in off Ollie for an own goal. Hitchin were then shocked again after a long clearance caused some confusion at the back, with a Leagrave forward taking advantage to make the score 3-2.
But that was as close as it got, with Hitchin firing back with two more goals just before half-time, both from Cameron.
Christian made it 6-2 straight after half-time, then Cameron followed with two more, Jake with a beauty, Christian again (completing his own hat-trick) and Liam with a tap-in after Ollie had seen two shots saved.

Hat-trick for Christian
So it was 11-2 in the end. If nothing else, this was a useful boost for the goal difference, as hopes rise for a sustained push towards the top of the table.
