Hitchin Town Under-10s extended their winning run with this friendly, arranged in between league games to avoid a blank Saturday.
Having started their Chiltern Junior 7s League Division Two league schedule well with three wins out of three, Hitchin were up against SKF – currently joint top of Division Three, with four wins out of four.
A well matched first 10 minutes saw Hitchin battle hard on a heavy pitch and kicking uphill, with few clear chances before Jake eventually broke the deadlock.
Hitchin settled into their passing and as the game wore on they began to dominate. Jake scored twice more for his hat-trick, one of them a brilliant free-kick, and Kameron got onto a through ball for 4-0.
Alfie scored his first of the season through a penalty and Christian wrapped things up with Hitchin’s sixth after a fine move.
As well as scoring three, Jake even played for a period in goal to allow Luke a run-out on pitch, and duly made a fine double save near the end to protect Hitchin’s clean sheet.
SKF competed well and had their moments – being a good bet for success in their division this year.
Hitchin get back to league action next week and will hope to continue their current run (five wins out of five in all fixtures) for as long as possible.

Alfie scored his first of the season.

Jake hat-trick, and then kept goal.
