Firesharks hit 3rd place in the Premier Division today with a tremendous 7-1 win against Lemsford.
To achieve 3rd place after such a very delayed start and playing 'catch up' to this division is excellent for this squad of only 13 players and they should be very proud of themselves in climbing up the league with a series of wins and so far (!) remaining undefeated. Management and Parents are very proud of you all.

Good defending from Firesharks
A very blustery day made conditions very difficult on this pitch but it went like this - Nick put Matty through on 10 minutes to make it 1-0, on 15 minutes Matt grabbed a second following a goalmouth scramble. Nick hit a long range left footed volley for one of the best goals of the match on 18 minutes, on 20 minutes a bouncing ball in the box was nodded in dead centre of goal by Dom who also got a knock in the face for his trouble to make it 4-0. A corner from Kieran was headed over the keeper by an unfortunate Lemsford lad to make it 5-0 on 28 minutes but plucky little Lemsford pulled one back to make 5-1 at half time.

Sharks attack goal
Playing against the gale force wind second half slowed things up considerably but a smart little lofted cross from Ruman left wing was converted by Nick on 42 minutes to make it 6-1. A fantastic corner from Matt , unusually ! saw Kieran convert calmly, dead centre of goal to make it 7-1, quite fitting for him to score as he is so often the provider of goals for Firesharks.

Sharks in action against Lemsford
A good display by the boys today, all played well but would just like to mention 2 lads - Andy was very sound in sweeping and tidying up at the back, and Ruman gave us some good work on the left wing as well as a solid defensive performance when asked - a deserved man of the match. Just 11 players available for this one due to illness so well done lads.
