Bushmead Rovers v Hitchin Town Reds

Saturday, January 20 2007

With no league game, Hitchin Under 10s took the chance to play a friendly against a team from the division above them, and came out comfortable winners.

Hitchin are currently second in Division Two of the Chiltern Junior 7s league, with a game in hand, whilst Bushmead Rovers are bottom of Division.1.

Bushmead took the lead after a thrown in was smartly flicked on for the striker to then drill home.Unfazed, Hitchin hit back almost immediately, with Kameron going on a run and finishing well for 1-1.

From here on Hitchin took control, staying strong throughout the game, despite only having one sub whereas Bushmead had a large squad rotating all the time.

A corner from Kameron was headed home well by Liam for 2-1, then a brilliant individual goal from the on fire Kameron made it 3-1.

One of the best moves of the game saw Alfie win it at the back, Jake dash forward and pass to Kameron, who set Ryan free to score Hitchin’s fourth.

Ollie, who had played excellently from the very start, put Christian in for 5-1 and then Christian scored again after his shot looped in off a defender’s head.

Bushmead broke to make it 6-2 as the game neared its conclusion, but Hitchin weren’t finished until another brilliant run by Jake put Liam through to score his second and Hitchin’s seventh.

A fine performance. But it’s back to all important league action next weekend.
