FIRESHARKS WIN CJ 7's TREBLE !!!

The fantastic Firesharks Under 10's completed their record breaking season in Chiltern Junior 7's by adding the CJ7 Tournament Trophy to their league and cup double.
A windy rainswept day saw an early start in Luton for the lads who emerged some 7 hours later unbeaten and not conceding a goal in this busy popular tournament to rightly lift the cup with some excellent football. Teams from all 4 divisions took part and Firesharks dominated their group with 4 wins out of 4 beating Sacred Heart, Celtic, Barton Rovers City & Bushmead Rovers and scoring 10 goals in the process. 'Sharks faced a quarter final against Flitwick Eagles and safely through this we met good old Barton Rovers Villa in the semi final - an evenly matched game saw this go to extra time and despite the tension the boys dug deep and banished last weeks demons with a 1-0 win.
Luton Borough Dragons Whites were our opponents in the final and they tried hard - but the quality of Firesharks play today and a steely determination by the boys not to let this tournament slip away saw a trophy winning goal scored by Dominic with a sharp volley in the first half.
Major celebrations at the end by the team - delight by our faithful parents and family group who had braved out the very unseasonal weather to cheer the boys on to the end.
Massive performances by all the players today, considering that we had to start two games without our regular goalie Ryan who battled through an injured hand to return and play out the tournament. I can't compliment the boys highly enough for their commitment, enthusiasm, energy and desire to win.
To enter all three competitions in Chiltern Junior 7's available to us in our age group , and win them all without losing a game is an incredible achievement - .....these boys surely are Hitchin Town Youth's TEAM OF THE SEASON !!
