St Neots U12's v Hitchin Town Youth

On a bitterly cold day we hoiked up the A 1 to play St Neots.  With just 11 players available and Ben as stand in goalie we were not too sure as to how the game would go but it was clear we could afford no injuries!

A balanced first half really , Hitchin probably played too deeply and Ben was called into action more than once with some great blocks and diving saves.  His positioning was excellent.  When we did break our finishing was not good enough and 0-0 it was.
 
Second half saw us take the lead only to relinquish it minutes later !!  Tom Priest in midfield role today latched onto a through ball and with two defenders snapping at his heels drove home to make it 1-0.  Lack of concentration and poor positioning led to St Neots equaliser soon after.  A reasonable performance by the boys, in football speak it could have gone either way had we played to our potential, Saints will feel they might have nicked the 3 points........ but a draw it was....... with everyone legging it back to their cars to get warm at the final whistle.
