The final game of the season and could Firesharks preserve their unbeaten record ?
A sunny warm morning on a sloping pitch saw brave Bushmead battle valiantly but Firesharks quality of passing and pressuring of the Rovers players when they were in possession ended in what was quite a comfortable win.
Beautifully flighted corner from Joe F saw Nick meet it with a fine header to make it 1-0 in the first half. Nick hit the bar, Joe F and Joe M went close with smothered saves by the good Rovers keeper or strikes went just wide .
The second half saw good diagonal passing from all the team and Courts finding himself on right wing, pivoted and returned a low cross into the box for Doms telescope legs to rifle brilliantly at full stretch into the left side of goal.
It was nice to see some attacking headers in this game, notably Nick and Joe M very close whilst Kayne had a run in midfield and looked very comfortable with some great balls delivered in.
Ryan was not over troubled but had to pounce quickly in the box today to smother over hit passes with onrushing strikers following, Kayne was sound in defence and a revelation in midfield in second half, Ethan gave superb defending and intelligent passing from defence, Andy was classy in sweeping and moving the ball forward, Joe M had a superb game both in midfield and a cameo role as striker for latter part of the game, Nick worked hard, good passing great dribbling maybe should have had more than the one goal, Joe F had best game for a while with fantastic crosses into the box good work on the whole of the right wing and a hugely improved defensive role, Dom gave us superb trickery whilst on the ball -great goal - and good closing down of players, Courts chased everything - held defenders off superbly and looked strong.
All credit to a well managed Bushmead who have a sporting set of lads - we wish them well next season.
