Under 10 Firesharks Pre Season Friendlies

Firesharks played 2 pre season friendlies to prepare for the step into the Chiltern Junior 7's league this season - both matches won and both games giving us the opportunity to see how we look this season.
 
Firesharks v Wymondley Park 'A'   1st September
 
Firesharks came up against a hugely improved Wymondley who made it very hard for us to break down their midfield and attack.  This was evenly balanced in the first half although Firesharks looked the stronger team by the second half.

Nick Freeman scored 2 goals, one of which was one of his specials,  ie a superb individual effort before slotting it in close range to wrong foot the superb Wymondley Park goalie.  Dominic and Courtney both netted also to give this a 4-0 win which I think flattered us to be honest as Wymondley will do well in the Crow league this year  - and as ever it is a pleasure to play such sporting friendly opponents in this a local 'derby'.  Well done Firesharks.

Firesharks v Luton Borough Whites   3rd September
 
A sunny morning saw Firesharks take on unknown Luton Borough Whites  in preparation for our Chiltern league games.

An excellent first half saw a superb goal netted by Dominic from a crossfield pass by Nick after good work by Joe F  on the right wing.  Nick netted his second with a left foot strike edge of box and then later added our 3rd with a right footed drill inside the post for his second goal of the morning.

Courtney was desperately unlucky not to score and hit the post with a great turn and shot.  The match finished 3-2 with a late strike by Borough to make it a very encouraging display by Firesharks.

Over the two games it has been very satisfying to see Kayne and Ethan in such good form - as solid as ever and some stepping up in their passing abilities which is benefitting the whole team , Andy has been 'safe as houses' and diligent- such a 'safe' player , Joe M battling and closing down , Nick here there and everywhere and still scoring  (to this seasons target!?), Ryan shouting directing and looking good, Courtney who is proving to be an absolutely superb acquisition to the squad, strong , balanced and a 'goalscorer' too ! and  Dominic who has scored two goals already and is looking like he has been with us since the beginning as he looks so comfortable in the team.  Joe F has been a revelation with some superb wing play and intelligent one touch passing in both games - back to his best.  Well done boys you are a credit to yourselves - roll on CJ7's..
