Hitchin Town Reds v Watling Blacks

Sunday, January 28 2007

This thumping win kept Hitchin Under 10s on track, leaving them second in the Chiltern Junior Sevens league with a game in hand.

It was a good performance from front to back, with quality football and determination. The early stages saw Christian shoot just wide and Jake clip the bar direct from a corner. Then Kameron headed in the opener after showing good strength.

A fantastic finish from Kameron made it 2-0 after a one two with the unselfish Christian. Just before half-time, a good passing move saw Jake beat the keeper and Alfie tap in at the foot of the post.

Another hat-trick for Kameron

The second half was comfortable, with Ollie and Paddy easily cleaning up any Watling attacks. Kameron claimed his third, despite a slight defender deflection, for 4-0, as the good passing continued and quality crosses kept flying over from Christian.

Luke in the Hitchin goal made a good save from a corner and then another stop soon after, both well held. But Hitchin saved their best for last, with a classic goal featuring link-up play from Jake, a fine cross from Christian and good finish from Liam.
