The double is still on after this hard-fought victory. With the game being played at Top Field a good crowd watched Hitchin take early control, going two up with goals from Junior Morrison and Charlie Sparks. The lead could have been doubled as Hitchin dominated the first half-hour, but a goal from the visitors just before the break changed the nature of the game.

In the second-half the recent hectic schedule seemed to catch up on the lads, with Arlesey equalising and threatening to take control. However, a late winner from Junior secured the points.

It was his 49th of the season, with Sunday's League Cup Final next up………..
