Shefford Saints v Hitchin Town Hurricanes

Saturday, March 31 2007

On a sunny morning in Shefford, Hurricanes were back on winning form, with a goal even from our defender.

Straight from kick off Hurricanes were on top, in the first 5 minutes we had 5 shots on goal that went wide, hit the bar or were saved, we thought it was going to be another one of those days.  But lucky for us it wasn’t, the boys were playing some great passing and moving, Josh was working hard on the left putting some great crosses in and finally one paid off for Jack to slot the first one in the back of the net. 0-1.

There was a little pressure from shefford but nothing that Simmy and Michael couldn’t handle and Matt didn’t really have much to do. Rhys was working hard in midfield along with Josh and Alfie only for Rhys to take another ball in the face, must make that about 3 games in a row now but Hurricanes were back on the attack and with a lovely cross from Alfie, Josh scored with a class volley.  0-2 at half time.

Hurricanes came out just as strong with many attacks but we had the goal of the season from Michael to make it 0-3, clearing the ball from our own half saw the ball bounce right over the keepers head and into the net, classic!!!!

Shefford saints really didn’t have much of the play, and a lovely cross from Adam saw Lee send an excellent volley into the back of the net, 0-4.  It was only a matter of time before there was another goal and this time it was Rhys’s turn with a goalmouth scramble 0-5.

I would just like to say that this is one team that we will miss, it is always a friendly game and all the boys try there hardest.  It was a pleasure playing them, and they are a credit to their manager.

Final score: Shefford Saints 0 Hitchin Town Hurricanes 5

Man of the match  Rhys  (another ball to face and still excellent)
